Faith In Action
Habitat for Humanity-Spokane has built over 181 homes with help from volunteers and donors of every faith background in this community. HfH-Spokane will partner with all community members including other affordable housing providers, ethnic and minority communities, and low-income families to raise the standards of affordable housing. HfH-Spokane will provide hope and stability for families in partnership while building our community through quality homeownership.
Get Involved!
There are many ways your congregation can get involved: schedule a group of volunteers to help construct homes (youth groups, small groups, pastor's build, etc.), provide funding for construction materials, host an out-of-town group at your congregation, offer prayer at Habitat events (clergy), prepare meals for volunteers, and long-term partnership.
Schedule a group from your congregation to volunteer to build homes!
Help raise the roof on a new home for a deserving family. Pound nails, paint, install appliances, hang doors, and installing windows are just a few of the activities your groups can help us with. No experience, no problem! Our qualified construction staff will guide and train you. Experienced? Help us lead other volunteers or give of your expertise as an individual.
Invite a Habitat representative speak to your congregation
Learn how your congregation can partner with Habitat-Spokane to help put an end to poverty housing in our community. We can speak to your whole congregation, small group, or set up an information booth between services.
Participate in our new domestic mission trip program, “Habitat Camp”
Invite your friends and family to come to Spokane for a mission trip, or host a Habitat Camp group at your congregation. The 2008 Habitat Camp ministry begins in April and ends in August. Groups of up to 25 volunteers from all across the country come to Spokane for a week of homebuilding and fellowship. The cost is $150 each, which pays for building materials and also includes a week long accommodation, one meal per day, a Habitat Camp souvenir t-shirt, and an experience of a life time.
